Juicers
Juicers are used to extract juices from fruits and vegetables
There are two types of juicers, designed for different purposes
Centrifugal Juicer: It takes the fruits and vegetables through a feed tube and directly into contact with a blade that shreds them at 6,000-14,000 RPM. The juice is thrown by the centrifugal force of the spinning basket towards the sides and pushed through a sharp screen into a jug or glass This type of juicers is very popular and economical. However, blades in the juicer tend to heat up due to high RPM, leading to loss of nutrition from the juice
Cold-Presses / Slow Juicers: They use a slow gear to crush fruits and veggies and force against and through a sharp screen at 80 to 100 RPM. Slow juicers can yield more juice than centrifugal juicer, the nutrients are preserved better, and the juice stays fresher longer due to absence of heat. Slow juicers may require more prep work and cleaning
