Four decades of craftmanship, 40,000 Artisans, Nand Kishore Chaudhary (NKC) founded the idea of Jaipur Rugs in 1978 working beside 9 artisans on two looms. He started his business on principles of dignity. Over the years his simple idea has grown into a network of 40,000 artisans across India and clientele across 40 countries of the world who subscribe to a common philosophy of responsible manufacturing. NKC?s greatest work has been in subverting centuries old practices that shunned the poor, women and artists. He has brought dignity back to the craft of rug making. They say that ideas are a dime a dozen, but are those ideas fully formed? No, most ideas are thoughts without full clarity. The Genesis collection is a play on those ideas, ones with a clear origin but without a clear future. Hand-tufted/Hand Wooven in rural India, the collection acts as a platform where pastel colors and vague shapes coexist with the hopes of blending into a concrete idea.

Care & Maintenance
Vacuum regularly to keep dirt from getting trapped in fibres. If spills occur, blot immediately. Do not rub the stain. Rotate occasionally to equalize wear. Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and piling. If thread comes out do not pull the yarn, trim with scissor. Periodic professional cleaning recommended.
